     ***warning, some spoilers***
I finished reading Chapterhouse: Dune this morning and have been thinking about it and the previous book Heretics of Dune all day. Then I got home and started reading Hunters of Dune. I think I may have entirely missed the point of the last half of Chapterhouse. I came away with a totally different interpretation (especially the last chapter) than Hunters seems to lay out. I am tempted to stop now and continue my own speculation on those two books.
I saw the two characters in the final chapter as looking in fondly on a universe that was still filled with "toddlers" much as the Bene Gesserite looked at mankind. I thought the Honored Matres would eventually be turned into Bene Gesserites proper because in the end hate destroys itself. Leto's Golden Path created the circumstances of the characters in the last chapter's existence (Face Dancers with no Masters from the Scattering) and the the taming of the Bene Gesserite by making them acknowledge that love was not "a disposable thing from man's early evolution" but that which seperated humanity from animals. Like I said I've been thinking about it all day.
